- description: Dr. James Cox presents a discussion of current surgical procedures being done today as well as past procedures that have fallen by the wayside yet are still seen in a clinical setting demanding care. In working with our medical and surgical colleagues, the preferred term of "persistent post-surgical back pain" has not yet spread as far and wide as "failed back surgical syndrome," but we chiropractors can help the pain after back surgery that continues.
- Cox Technic protocols are gentle and controlled, providing relief for these patients whom no more options may be open. The degree of relief realistically expected must be detailed to the patient at the outset of care. We do not cure many of these conditions, rather control them. Clinical cases from Dr. Cox's clinical practice will be presented.
- Attendees may choose to share their experiences in treating these post-surgical cases during the webinar on mic or via the chat.
- Treating post-surgical patients is most rewarding for both the doctor and the patient who just want some relief and are most appreciative of any relief. We are studying the most costly condition in terms of money and suffering.
- This lecture is future chiropractic flexion distraction and long y axis decompression for the most challenging case seen in chiropractic today – the post surgical spine.
