Protocol Guides

Cox® Technic is evidence-based care of spine pain conditions: neck pain, arm pain, low back pain, leg pain (sciatica), thoracic spine pain. Based on clinical outcomes and research reports, protocol guides for application of Cox® Technic are published in textbooks and journal articles. Neck and arm pain conditions are separated into two general protocol groups by their symptomatology: pain that extends below the elbow (protocol I) and pain that stops above the elbow (protocol II). Low back and leg pain conditions are generally separated by their symtomatology as well: pain that extend below the knee (protocol I) and pain that stops above the knee (protocol II). Cox® Technic Flexion Distraction and Decompression protocols are published documents for all physicians to review.

Check out the abbreviated protocol guides below, but know that full discussion and presentation of the protocols are documented in the two textbooks: Low Back Pain: Mechanism, Diagnosis and Treatment and Neck, Shoulder and Arm Pain: Mechanism, Diagnosis, Treatment by James M. Cox.  The following links/guides/notes do not replace in-person hands-on training that focuses on the proper delivery of forces, hand-set up, understanding of the biomechanics involved, etc.
