This paper was researched and compiled by request of material on this topic. An algorithm was designed as well. There is a list of references on the topic of acute back pain and chronic low back pain and the efforts of researchers and healthcare providers to prevent acute back pain from becoming chronic. Certainly it is not an end-all or fully comprehensive report, but it is a point-in-time report that may be valuable for healthcare practitioners and back pain sufferers as they find their way through the options for conservative treatment and management of back pain.
