Chiropractic care in the form of spinal manipulation is reported beneficial to patients after they complete their initial treatment to get out of pain. For chronic low back pain that is non-specific in origin, researchers found that patients who continued to receive spinal manipulation once every two weeks after the first month of care showed more improvement of pain and disability scores, close to their pre-treatment scores. The comparision groups of low back pain patients were either treated with a sham treatment or were treated for the initial month with no continued treatments for the remaining study time.
