Vision for 2016 and Cox Technic

02/02/2016

2016 is upon us. Obamacare is still with us. Medicare continues. Evidence-based medicine is in demand. Back pain and neck pain still hinder people. Leg pain and arm pain still cause pain. The need for back pain specialists who can competently and economically care for spine and related pain grows. So the following message, vision of the future for chiropractic back pain specialists in 2016, is from Dr. James Cox for you on this first day of the new year.

COX® FLEXION DISTRACTION AND DECOMPRESSION SPINAL MANIPULATION 2016 UPDATE

The interest of or work in medicine with spinal manipulation is growing among chiropractors, physical therapists, osteopaths and allopaths. The efforts to sustain and increase chiropractic growth will occur in 2016.

1. PART III 2016 - EVERY CHIROPRACTOR'S DREAM LEARNING EXPERIENCE

  • Certified and other interested chiropractors will learn from case presentations of clinical patients by certified Cox® practitioners from their clinical practices. All are invited to share a case!
  • Differential diagnosis and treatment of common and unusual cases of spine pain will be presented.
  • Common conditions are presented with history, examination, diagnosis and Cox® F/D spinal manipulation treatment will be disc degeneration, degenerative and true spondylolisthesis, Bertolotti's syndrome, spinal stenosis, herniated intervertebral discs, spondylosis, vertebral fracture, DISH, osteoporosis, scoliosis (adolescent and degenerative) and the uncommon conditions of polymyalgia rheumatica, mastocytosis, metabolic syndrome, post surgical continued pain (FBSS), etc.
  • New research documented knowledge is linked to clinical practice because all doctors seek the best clinical outcomes. This is evidence-based medicine.
  • NEW FOR 2016: SPECIFIC DISEASE PROCESSES SEEN WITH SPINE PAIN TREATED BY CHIROPRACTORS WILL BE DETAILED FOR DIAGNOSIS  AND TREATMENT EFFECT. THESE WILL INCLUDE POLYMYALGIA RHEUMATICA, MASTOCYTOSIS, MEDIASTINAL TUMOR DIAGNOSIS WITH SPINE PAIN, MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS, AND OTHER CONDITIONS SEEN BY CHIROPRACTORS IN CLINICAL PRACTICE THAT NECESSITATE SPINAL CARE. I will begin this series and invite doctors to present such cases from their practices.
  • Enhanced overview opinions of challenging cases by certified instructors.
  • Part III will be a  powerful clinical experience to support your patient care whether you are a certified Cox® practitioner or a general practice chiropractor seeking improved clinical outcomes. If found of sufficient benefit, you may be drawn to becoming a certified F/D practitioner. It is my desire and determination to make this a strong post graduate learning experience for the motivated chiropractic doctor.
  • Much gratitude goes out to Haven Innovation who continues to innovate The Cox Table as doctor and researcher influences are considered and then integrated into the table. Their engineering crew is amazing as is the whole assembly team. A new Cox 8 Table (and several at most courses) is provided by Haven Innovation for hands-on demonstration and training.
  • If you are a practitioner who seeks heightened clinical outcomes in your patient population, please consider sharing your knowledge and learning needs with us at Part III. I know of no program like this in our profession for postgraduate study.

2. 2016 NEW CERVICAL SPINE CERTIFICATION COURSE IN CERVICAL AND THORACIC SPINE WITH AND WITHOUT RADICULOPATHY TO START IN SEPTEMBER 2016

  • There has long been a need for specialized study and training in upper spine and radicular pain conditions, and here it is. It will be taught by certified Cox® Technic physicians with the inaugural session being held in Chicago on September 17-18, 2016.

3. An international referral directory of certified Cox® practitioners for patient referral

4. A Clinical Data Collection Research Project

  • This will study the diagnosis and treatment of Post-Surgical Continued Pain patients in chiropractic clinical practice. This post-surgical continued pain (or formerly and maybe better known as Failed Back Surgical Syndrome) is becoming an epidemic condition demanding exacting chiropractic skills to treat. So watch the growth of this movement of research and clinical outcomes, this evidence based system of care for back pain specialists.
